This year has brought so many first, even for the 23 years of education. Our teachers began seeing technology as a tool and not an outside force against them. Eighth grade teachers continue working toward the flipped classroom. BYOD has created new problems with students texting each other and reaching social media during the day. Students are very creative in finding ways to communicate with each other. In the discipline area, we have had some first that made us laugh and cry. New little "Lions" have been born at record numbers to our teachers, which has brought many subs on to our campus.
The new year will bring one-to-one to our 7th and 8th graders, and our 6th graders will have net books in each core classroom that they will bring them one-to-one in the classroom. Even though the bookkeeping seems overwhelming at this time, I am excited that our students will be able to learn so much with access to the digital world.
